In the race for Montana House District 79, incumbent Chuck Hunter (D) is a small businessman, who has served the last two terms as representative.

He is challenged by Mark Diaz (R), who openly speaks about how his faith will guide him if he elected.

Hunter: "I've served two sessions, I obviously have a long background in state government. I know a lot of things about many different things that government does. I've got experience, I've got a master's degree in education. My make-up as a person is one of problem solving. I'm known among my party as one of the folks who really does work across the aisle."

Diaz: "I have the intellect, I have the passion. I have the time to immerse myself in the job that needs to be done. I'm not for sale. From the beginning I announced that I'm not accepting any campaign contributions. That's another area that needs to be fixed, by the way. I will do the job with the mind of Christ, not my mind."
